Visit our Mardale village pages and see the village drowned under Haweswater, reappear during the drought of 1995.

During this weeks walk, we comment on, and post photographs taken during the drought of 1995, during which the village of Mardale Green emerged from the depths of Haweswater. We visited the Mardale Valley on the 24th of September '95, and climbed Branstree, during which we took some of the photographs in the feature.
